Product Introduction

Overview

This 5 TPD sodium hypochlorite plant is engineered for on-site production of high-strength sodium hypochlorite liquid. The base rating is 5 tons of 12% NaClO solution per day, with flexible output tuning from 5% up to 15% available chlorine. It uses proven ion-exchange membrane electrolysis technology, running only on industrial salt, raw water and electricity.

Many end users prefer this mid-size skid over buying bulk commercial bleach. Buying delivered hypochlorite carries high freight cost, short shelf life and concentration degradation during transit. Running your own 5TPD unit lets you make fresh solution on demand, dial in the exact strength your process needs, and cut long-term chemical supply risk.

The unit is built for continuous 24-hour operation. It fits municipal water works, industrial wastewater disinfection, aquaculture, food plant sanitation, textile bleaching and oilfield water treatment. We ship it as a pre-assembled skid; containerized version is optional for remote sites with limited workshop space.

Output Table by Concentration (Fixed 600 kg/day available chlorine)

NaClO Concentration Daily Liquid Output
5% 12.0 TPD
8% 7.5 TPD
10% 6.0 TPD
12% 5.0 TPD (rated)
15% 4.0 TPD

Note: Total active chlorine stays consistent. Lower concentration gives more liquid volume; higher concentration reduces liquid output.

OPEX Breakdown (Reference, based on 12% rated mode)

Calculated on 600 kg available chlorine per day, 24h continuous run.

  • Salt consumption: ~1,200 kg/day industrial salt
  • DC power consumption: ~1,500 kWh/day
  • Water consumption: ~4.2 m³/day (brine preparation + process water)
  • Consumable replacement: Membrane stack replacement every 2–3 years; electrode overhaul on 3-year cycle
  • Labour: 1 part-time operator for daily check, no continuous attendance required after commissioning

Actual running cost shifts with local electricity tariff, salt price and water cost. We can prepare a custom OPEX sheet once you share your local utility rates.

Key Benefits

  1. Adjustable concentration. One plant covers low-dose disinfection and high-strength bleaching, no need to stock multiple bleach grades.
  2. On-site production removes bleach ageing risk. Sodium hypochlorite loses strength in storage; fresh production maintains stable chlorine content.
  3. Skid packaged design reduces site installation work. Main piping, pumps, electrolyser, control cabinet and tanks are pre-mounted.
  4. Safety interlock set: hydrogen vent monitoring, brine low-level cut-off, over-temperature alarm, emergency stop.
  5. Scalable footprint. 5TPD sits between our 1TPD small unit and 10TPD large plant, perfect for mid-sized towns, medium factories and regional water stations.

Typical Applications

  • Municipal drinking water & sewage disinfection
  • Industrial wastewater treatment
  • Aquaculture and seafood processing sanitation
  • Textile mill bleaching
  • Cooling tower biocide control
  • Mine & oilfield produced water treatment

FAQ

Q: Can I switch between different concentrations on the same day? A: Yes. Adjust the brine feed and dilution setpoint on the PLC screen. Allow 30–60 minutes for the system to stabilise before sampling.

Q: Do I need a chemical licence to run this unit? A: Regulations vary country by country. The plant generates hypochlorite for on-site use only, not for resale in most cases. We suggest checking local environmental and safety rules before installation.

Q: What voltage options can you supply? A: 380V 50Hz standard; 415V, 440V, 60Hz versions available on request.

Q: How long does commissioning take? A: 3–5 working days on site after civil works and power connection are ready. Our engineer trains your staff on routine operation, sampling and simple troubleshooting.
